This collection of logs detail various interactions concerning the Bastet
Caern and Taklah.
- First Taghairm
- The first on-game Taghairm for the Bastet of the Taklah of the Nine
Staffs, this scene introduces many of the Bastet characters, as well as
a pair of Silent Striders.
- Teaching Treecatcher
- The young Simba kit learns some of her first, most fundamental lessons,
about being a Bastet.
- Moonwatcher's Watch
- "Posted" to the Southern Bawn by the King, Endless-Rain, Moonwatcher is
joined by Treecatcher -- grumpy about her broken tree branch that she
thinks has magical powers. They encounter a pack of would-be raiding
hyenas.
- Kola Nuts
- A brief interlude between Ngoye, the Simba, and Daia, the lupus Silent
Strider, that underscores the vast gulfs in cultures and traditions.
- ~Yet you lie with them~
- Tempts-Fate tracks down Dawn-Tear's hyena pack, and they turn out to be
more than he can handle. Fleeing to the caern's Umbra, he is accosted
by the Ajaba's vulture jamak. -- Meanwhile, Mabo comes to Mvwala to
riddle with Ngoye.
- How to Catch a Hyena
- Shortly after the previous scene, the Strider returns to the caern to
apologize and conspire with the Simba.
- Honor Yourself
- Treecatcher learns the Karoush. The hard way.
- The Oracle
- Ngoye treads carefully with the Oracle of Mvwala.
- Owl and Oshunmare
- Fresh from her sucessful Rite of Passage, Tempts-Fate reports what
she's learned to the Simba.
- Kuasha Interludes One,
Two, and
Three
- Short interludes between Treecatcher and her kuasha, Ngoye, in which the
Aka attempts to teach the lioness a Gift and test how she is developing as
a Simba.
- The Ungroomed
- The Bubasti, Naeem, travels to Mvwala where Ngoye sets about a series
of ordeals to test the strange Egyptian cat. -- With his characteristic
leoine flair, Ngoye succeeds only in driving Naeem off. Perhaps for
good. Includes appearances by Treecatcher, Fireborn and Black-Tip.
- Catcher and Climber
- A homid-form Treecatcher encounters the Bagheera, Ghost. After a
fashion.
- Encounter at the Defile
- Emboldened by some unknown force, Ajaba packs penetrate the outer
defenses of the Nine Staffs. They are eventually encountered by Black-Tip,
Treecatcher and other Simba, but the odds do not favor the lions.
Features: Splinter and Finds-Trouble.
- Stepping Sideways to catch a name Spoken on the Wind
- Ngoye teaches his kit to step through the Velvet Curtain. Here the
kuasha Speaks a new Name for the kit.
- Hatari Meets Kamau and Lisha
- The Oracle encounters a Simba Kinfolk and his sister in the
Southwestern Grasslands outside the Bawn. The kit, Windspeaker, stands
gaurd.
- A Failed Introduction
- Two Simba encounter a strange traveller on the savannah. The meeting is
broken up by the threat of outsiders.
- Panther's Daughter
- The Black Fury, Stalks-Prey, is challenged by the Nine Staffs
pride. Features: Hatari and Ngoye.
- "Do Not Let a Woman Choose Your Wives For You"
- Ngoye meets Kamau, a Simba kinfolk, for the first time. They discuss
the virtues of women and wives.
- Zebra Gossip
- Windspeaker is tested by the Mvwala Oracle, regarding their recent
visitor, Stalks-Prey.
- The King's Pride
- Nkongolo, King of the Simba, calls his pride together to hunt an enemy
skirting the bawn. Features: Windspeaker, Ngoye and Lisha.
- "We Are Going to Slay the Other Killi,
Tempest Said So"
- Ngoye instructs the two Simba kits, Moonwatcher and Windspeaker, about
the other Killi.
- On the Trail to Bene-Bendi
- Ngoye resolves to take his kit to the human village, Bene-Bendi, which
exists on the edge of the Bastet bawn. Along the way, he talks with
Windspeaker about Man.
