A series of strange encounters start on the Eastern Barrier. These
uplands mark a geographic boundary between the jungle of the Congo
basin and the savannah that stretches to the east and south.

- Moonwatcher, a Simba kit, undergoes a painful First Change;
Mr. Hicks dies.
- On the Eastern Barrier, Part One
- Ngoye stalks and then converses with the curious half-breed, Gabriel.
- On the Eastern Barrier, Part Two
- Later, Ngoye leads Gabriel back to Leopoldville. They encounter
an American mulatto, Nicolas.
- Asura's Horn
- Treecatcher, a young Simba kit, encounters more than she can
perhaps handle on the Barrier.
- Vite! Vite!
- A conversation between Nicolas and Gabriel is attacked by a
monstrous lion.
- Preparations
- Gabriel seeks out Ngoye for a favor, as he prepares to make a
short excursion into the veldt.
- Asura's Horn Returns
- Tempest and Moonwatcher travel across the Eastern Barrier to
rendezvous with Treecatcher, a new Simba kit the Swara Fireborn
discovered, when they happen across Asura's Horn, again. A third
kit, Shairi, undergoes her First Change in the melee.
- Oshunmare and Enlightenment, Part 1
- The Simba of the Nine Staffs discover a delirious M. Santos on the
Barrier. Their attempts to drive him off and away yield even greater
surprises. -- For all of them.
- Oshunmare and Enlightenment, Part 2
- This story begins in the same place as the first part but departs to
follow the Mage, rather than the Bastet.
- Daia and Ngoye
- A brief conversation between the Simba and the Strider sends the latter
on a mission to discover what plagues the Eastern Barrier.
- The Death of Asura's Horn
- Nkongolo leads the Taklah out onto the Eastern Barrier to hunt and
destroy the monster that has been plaguing that area. Silent Striders join
him for part of the hunt and kill.
- Owl's Children and Oshunmare
- The Silent Striders of the savannah band together and quest to form a
true Garou pack. Owl's thirst for knowledge returns them to the mystery of
Oshunmare.
- The Ill-Born
- The metis Ammut's tiny camp is harried by the forceful Ajaba.
- Priest, Parishioner and Pups
- Daniel and the Silent Strider lupus, Tempts-Fate's discussion about the
arrival of pups is interrupted by one of the priest's
parishioners. Features: Nyarai.
- Cactus-Dancer
- Tempts-Fate challenges the Silent Strider galliard, Cactus-Dancer, for
Fostern among the Garou.
